Having seen some of Casey’s work featured at the excellent Austin, TX blog Public School, I was happy for the slightest excuse to share some of it on the site. I love the uncomplicated honesty of the pictures, in the way they wrestle with a childhood that is definitively in the past but very much still alive. They are by turns sad, wry, mesmerised, blank and expectant photographs I think, and in the way that they evoke play in some kind of a naked state – invisible in its detail but so familiar in all its textures – they offer always some sense of firm hope.
